THE ASCENSION

""Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." [Luke 1; 11]

GOOD MORNING TO GOD IN GALILEE

Thus, in the company of Maximin and Melanie, the Lady moved
along, gliding over the tips of the grass without touching it, until she
reached the top of the hillock where the children, after their sleep, had gone
to look after their cows. Melanie preceded her by a few steps, and Maximin was at her right.
On reaching the summit the Lady paused for a few seconds, then slowly rose up to a height of a meter and a
half. She remained suspended in the air for a moment, raised her eyes to Heaven, then glanced in the
direction of the southeast. At that moment, Melanie, who had been standing at the left of the Lady, came in
front in order to see her better. Only then did she notice that the celestial Visitor had ceased weeping,
although her features remained very sad.
The radiant vision now began to disappear. "We saw her head no more, then the rest of the body no more;
she seemed to melt away. There remained a great light", related Maximin, "as well as the roses at her feet
which I tried to catch with my hands; but there was nothing more". "We looked for a long time", added
Melanie, "to see if we could not have another glimpse of her", but the Beautiful Lady had disappeared
forever.  [The Blessed Virgin takes her leave from La Salette.]

The men from Galilee and the children from the French Alps were caught in the same pose.  The result is the same.  They wished that they could follow.  Actually, we wish that we could follow too.  In some ways we do.  Go to Galilee and watch the sun rise over the Lake of Tiberias.  You will see God Himself greeting you for the new day.  Go to La Salette and watch the sun rise ove the crest of the majestic mountains.  You will see God and His Beautiful Mother greeting to for the new day.  During this period of church life between Ascension and Pentecost, no matter where we live, let's make an effort to greet God and His Beautiful Mother a few mornings between now and Pentecost when the sun of the Holy Spirit will come over the horizon down and infuse us with His love and His burning zeal for the mission. 

WELCOME TO GOD'S EMBRACE -- BIENVENIDOS

In the statement to the community from the General chapter of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, came a call for the exploration of the ecological aspects of reconciliation.  This is no doubt a challenge.  I will take this opportunity to tell you the story of how this blog was conceived.  There is no way to escape the providential nature of this turn of events.
One day about three or four weeks ago a man by the name of Jose Gutierrez aka Joseph Gutiz called me to ask if I was in a position to sponsor him as a photographer/reporter on a pilgrimage to Rome that Belle and I are organizing.  I thought that this was a challenging request, so I engaged Jose in a serious conversation about his purpose for asking.  He explained that he and his wife are writers, photographers and publishers.  They have children and of course they are living the life of the "starving" artists.  He pointed me to his website/gallery.  He is a photographer who loves to capture nature because for him, it is God's voice shouting out to the world.  He has a large gallery of photos.  Each of them has a message, both to him personally, and of course, to those who look upon them. 
During the conversation I decided that I would initiate a blog to which he could also contribute. This blog would be about how recognizing God in the world around us can bring us closer to Him.  It can even help us to change our lives and make us live in closer harmony with our neighbor.  In short, it can be a spur to our reconciliation to ourselves and to others.  That is why I chose the cover image and the title to fit it.  It looks like a huge hug, a dear embrace from God and His mother. 
Then, the other day when we were presented the final statement of the missionaries of La Salette and it contained the directive to explore the ecological aspects of reconciliation, I knew that someone had whispered in my ear.  So, here we are.  There will be more to come.

EL ABRAZO DE DIOS

En la declaración a la comunidad a partir del Capítulo General de los Misioneros de Nuestra Señora de La Salette, llegó una llamada para la exploración de los aspectos ecológicos de la reconciliación. Esto es sin duda un desafío. Voy a aprovechar esta oportunidad para contarles la historia de cómo este blog fue concebido. No hay manera de escapar de la naturaleza providencial de este giro de los acontecimientos.

Un día, hace unos tres o cuatro semanas, un hombre por el nombre de José Gutiérrez alias José Gutiz me llamó para preguntarme si yo estaba en una posición que le patrocinan como fotógrafo / reportero en una peregrinación a Roma de que Belle y yo estamos organizando. Pensé que se trataba de una petición difícil, así que me dediqué a José, en una conversación seria sobre su propósito. Explicó que él y su esposa son escritores, fotógrafos y editores. Tienen los niños y por supuesto que está viviendo la vida de los artistas habitualmente viven con hambre. Él me señaló a su sitio web / galería. Él es un fotógrafo que ama capturar la naturaleza, porque para él, es la voz de Dios gritando al mundo. Él tiene una gran galería de fotos. Cada uno de ellos tiene un mensaje, tanto a él personalmente, y por supuesto, para aquellos que buscan en ellos.

Durante la conversación, decidí que iba a iniciar un blog para que también podrían contribuir. Este blog sería acerca de cómo reconocer a Dios en el mundo que nos rodea nos puede acercar a él. Incluso puede ayudarnos a cambiar nuestras vidas y hacernos vivir en mayor armonía con nuestro prójimo. En resumen, puede ser un estímulo para nuestra reconciliación con nosotros mismos y a los demás. Es por eso que elegí la imagen de la portada y el título para que quepa. Parece un gran abrazo, un abrazo querida de Dios y su madre.

Entonces, el otro día cuando se nos presentó la declaración final de los misioneros de La Salette y contuvo la directiva para explorar los aspectos ecológicos de la reconciliación, yo sabía que alguien le había susurrado al oído. Por lo tanto, aquí estamos. Habrá más por venir.

LE CÂLIN DE DIEU

Dans la déclaration à la communauté publiee apres le Chapitre général des Missionnaires de Notre-Dame de La Salette, un appel est venu nous invitant a explorer les aspects écologiques de la réconciliation. C'est certainement un défi. Je vais profiter de cette occasion pour raconter l'histoire de la façon dont ce blog a été conçu. Il n'y a pas moyen d'échapper à la nature providentielle de la tournure des événements.
Un jour, il y a environ trois ou quatre semaines, un homme au nom de Jose Gutierrez alias Gutiz, Joseph m'a appelé pour me demander si j'étais en mesure de le parrainer en tant que photographe / journaliste sur un pèlerinage à Rome que Belle et moi organisons . Je pensais que c'était une demande interessante, alors j'ai joint Joseph dans une conversation sérieuse sur son propos. Il a expliqué que lui et son épouse sont des écrivains, des photographes et des éditeurs. La famille entiere vit la vie des artistes, sans luxe. Il m'a orienté vers son site / galerie. Il est un photographe qui aime à capturer la nature, parce que pour lui, c'est la voix de Dieu criant au monde. Il a une grande galerie. Chacune de ses photos a un message, à la fois pour lui personnellement, et bien sûr, pour ceux qui jouissent de leur beaute.
Au cours de la conversation, j'ai décidé de commencer un blog. Ce blog serait une façon de reconnaître Dieu dans le monde qui nous entoure, et comment celui-ci peut nous rapprocher a lui. Nous pouvons même nous aider à changer nos vies peersonnelles et nous faire vivre plus en harmonie avec nos voisins. En résumé, cet art peut être un stimulant pour notre réconciliation avec nous-mêmes et les autres. C'est pourquoi j'ai choisi l'image de la couverture et le titre pour indiquer l'amour chaleureux de Dieu eaxprime dans la nature. La photo ean chef ressemble à un gros câlin, un câlin de Dieu et de sa mère bien-aimée.
Puis l'autre jour lorsque nous avons lu la déclaration finale des Missionnaires de La Salette et avons appris l'invitation d'explorer les aspects écologiques de la réconciliation, je savais que quelqu'un m'avait chuchoté a l'oreille. Donc nous sommes ici. Il y en aura d'autres à venir.
